Surprise


Somehow the blooming, budding
strawberries in a street-side garden
were a jolt of awareness─
we are truly past winter now,
even though the rain continues
and gray skies are nearly as common
as sunny and blue.

    Mmmmm, remembering Ellie's strawberry patch. She was proud of them and I was proud to eat them.

    Well, at least all your moisture is good for blooming things! We've been having false spring - but flurries due tonight.
