Seamus Heaney, RIP
“The end of art is peace…."
From
The Harvest Bow
“It strikes me that
the hermit and the poet probably have much in common: the need for solitude;
the deep-down awareness of things and the self-discipline to spend hours in
contemplation,”
Fr. Kevin Doran, homily at
funeral mass for Seamus Heaney
Sometimes, I think I could live the hermit's life. But then a dear friend contacts me, and I revel in our conversation. Also, I am surrounded even in my solitude by family, so I am only a "hermit" when I choose. But, I do like quiet and time alone to think. My life has afforded me that privelege. A lovely scene you photographed. Sunset?

Love the quote - so true. The sky in the photo looks like something Georgia O'Keefe might've painted, had she lived on the Northcoast.
