Small stone: January 18, 2012


Wikipedia,
says this lichen is brilliant yellow,
not dull green,
so that it can survive in bright light.
What a nourishing thought
on this gray day.

    I'm lichen this a lot :-) In the mountains of the southwest U.S., the lichen is a chartreuse, or lime green color. Looks like it could almost glow in the dark.
